Janurary 31st 2009

OK two post in one week wow!

So lets see this week has going so fast it left me spinning and feeling dizzy!! Yesterday Alexis prayed and asked Jesus to live in her heart, I know that she doesn't understand what that means and she just repeated the words after me but it was so neat to hear her say the words any way.

A good friend in in the hospital needing open heart surgery. He (Glenn Mac Kay, for those that may know him) is at St. Francis and will have a triple or quadruple heart bypass the first part of the week.

Cocoa got really sick. When we got her from the human society she was on meds but it wasn't for anything big supposedly just some loose stool (they said probably from stress). Well by Wednesday she stopped eating and drinking, she was running a fever, lethargic, runny nose....um what else oh yeah coughing and throwing up, major diarrhea! Took her to the vet and had a CBC don her red count was way low white count was way high. She was dehydrated. They kept her over night, changed her meds and had her on IV fluids all night. She ate Thursday morning for them. They kept her all day so she could be on fluids. That night she was up about every hour and a half throwing up clear fluids. I took her back on Friday morning and she had lost 2 pounds over night. They gave her a shot for the tape worms that they found and gave her a shot to keep her from throwing up and then they gave her fluids under her skin. I took her back home (we couldn't afford for them to keep her and they said that they thought she was on the up swing). We took the bag of IV fluid home and I have been giving them to her under the skin (amazing because I never have stuck anything purposely with a needle in my life and didn't think that I could!). She is doing great to day she has been eating and drinking on her own. She has also been outside playing with toys and is wonderful. She has some weight to gain back you can see her ribs and her hip bones stick up and kinda looks gross but she is getting better thankfully!

So several trips to the hospital, vet and church later and this week is over!!!

Janurary 26th 2009

Well this post is for Kacy (since I think that she is the only one that checks my blog).

We have a new puppy. Her name is Cocoa and she is 3 months old. We picked her out at the humane society. She is brown and black and is cute. She fits in with our family well.

We are enjoying our new home. It is still hard to believe that we have one finally. We are having a Superbowl party on Sunday and I am excited to have people over to see the house.
